I sincerely apologise to those I offended with my behaviour this past week.

As some of you will know, I am now once more on the market. So if any of you ladies are feeling a little lonely, please don't hesitate to get in touch. I'd be glad to help banish that loneliness.

Spring break wasn't much of a break unfortunately. If I wasn't dragooned into helping at the shop then there were heavy hints about studying being dropped (the type it's hard to say no to). It's a bit sad that coming back to Hogwarts seems like more of a holiday.

the worst part was the looks of mingled sympathy and worry from Mum and not-smug, but definitely vindicated 'I told you so' from Dad. Both equally annoying. They're also clearly of the mindset that now I'm not with her, I can go back to studying to be a Healer.

 

So glad exams are over. I was determined to ace them all so forced a no-journal rule for the entire period and buried my journal deep in my trunk until this morning. It was actually nice being away from the weirdness that goes on for once I think it worked, I feel a lot better about my Potions exam this time.

It's good to be going home too. Even if Dad says I have to help out at the shop more this time. Probably to keep an eye on me Still, hoping I can get away for some fun - does anyone know if anything is going on?

Speaking of fun - Happy St Patrick's Day!

Melted my cauldron. Again. Bloody fucking hell, I hate bloody potions.

At least the baby project ends tomorrow and I can really crack on with studying for exams. If anyone would like to form a study group, let me know.

I'm warding this to you because I've noticed you've all expressed concern in varying ways regarding the doll-baby project and the attachment shown by some of our classmates.

I'm planning to write to the Headmaster and request that the project be shortened in the hopes it will lessen the pain for those becoming too attached to their dolls, and I would like to know if I had any support from any of you and/or any others you know of who are concerned.

I seem to be lucky and have gained a rather placid infant. Maximus tends to calm down when I pick him up and even then doesn't get uptight unless there's something he needs like a nappy change or a feeding. The only thing he does is make a face when I try to take a photo that makes him look like a mini Winston Churchill... which is a bit terrifying on a baby.

I apologise for my words the other day, I realise you were not in control at the time.

I realise that some of the things we're seeing that were supposed to be behind wards are surprising, shocking or amusing to some - certainly I've learned more than I would have wanted to know - but it's disappointing to see that some people are using the opportunity to mock and belittle others.

Imagine how embarrassed you'd feel if you accidentally spilled something to the whole school that was private to you or close friends. Something that's not going to be forgotten and colour how people see you from now on. Would you really want other people teasing you about it?

Grow up and get a life.

Why is it that the people who are supposed to know you best, never seem to know you at all?

So, on New Year's Day I told my parents I am still considering want to be cursebreaker. Also, we finally looked at my exam marks. Potions was, as expected, Average.

As expected, they weren't very happy. Dad even lost his temper enough to say that I'd deliberately done badly in the Potions exam. Thankfully Peter stepped in and backed me up before I lost my temper back.

Peter stepping in surprised them and he was fairly persuasive about letting me explore options. They'd definitely still prefer I followed the Healer path, but at least they're being a bit more receptive. It's going to be a slow process but I'm feeling.. positive.

I didn't have a chance to tell my parents about you. I didn't want their annoyance about my decision regarding cursebreaking to colour their opinion of you.

I'll give them a couple of weeks to calm down and then send them a letter. I want to send a photo of you, so are you available for a photo session sometime?

This is one trend I don't mind following like a sheep. Even if my brother would kill me in a nasty way if he knew I was sharing his picture around. If you think I'm serious, you should meet him. He is serious. I can just about count on my fingers how many times I've seen him smile.

However, he's unlikely ever to see this journal so I think I'm safe.

It's been a full-on sort of day for a Sunday.

Now I'm going to be craving waffles every morning.

Also, s'mores are really nice. Apparently they're a popular campfire treat in the US and Canada? I hadn't really encountered them here before.

It was a good weekend what with the game and the party, but I got behind on my homework basically because I spent more time practicing for dueling club than finishing my potions homework so if anyone needs me for something then I'll be in the library.

No more parties. No more alcohol. I should not let myself get tempted. I have a badge, I'm supposed to be responsible. If I lost my badge because of some party then my parents would kill me with their disappointment and shame.

My costume is coming along really well, even if the helmet is a pain in the arse. The Black Knight from the old (but still brilliant) Monty Python film Holy Grail is my favourite sketch in the movie, so it's the perfect costume. If I get the charms right I can even make it look as if I've lost an arm or a leg... or both.

Probably best to leave out the spurting blood though.
